    Official information

Where the information on this page comes from. Analysis and speculation are labelled and are not official statements.

    What Rockstar announced

Rockstar introduced six of Grand Theft Auto VI’s radio stations in its October 8 Newswire announcement. The update names their hosts, describes their musical styles and directs listeners to previews on the official website.

It also confirms on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia, plus a way to hear both radio and podcasts while walking: headphones and earbuds connected to their smartphones. Listening in vehicles remains part of the announcement. The six featured stations are a selection from the game’s wider broadcast lineup; Rockstar does not give a final total in this article.

The six revealed stations and their hosts

Back Country Radio also has a field reporter, Mud Dog Mike, who reports from Grassrivers. Rockstar places its broadcasts in Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and beyond. Flash FM is described as an established part of Vice City, with Robyn and Alex presenting pop music.

The announcement’s broader reference to classic rock and talk radio describes the overall lineup. It does not identify a talk station among these six, and Flash FM’s description does not limit its playlist to older hits.

    Radio and podcasts while walking

Radio and on-demand podcasts are both available in vehicles and on foot. Rockstar explicitly links portable listening to the protagonists’ smartphones and the newly introduced headphones and earbuds. This gives players an announced way to keep listening outside a vehicle.

Podcasts are a separate addition to the radio offering: Rockstar says this is the first time the series includes on-demand podcasts. However, this announcement does not name programs, list their subjects or show the menu used to select them. It also does not explain how playback interacts with mission dialogue. Those details should not be inferred from the word podcast.

Where to hear the station previews

The official GTA VI music page has a radio section with a preview entry for each of the six stations. The station descriptions repeat the hosts and musical styles above, making it the direct place to sample the announced selection.

These are web previews, rather than a complete written playlist for the finished game. The page also has a separate soundtrack section, so listeners can choose between station samples and the album’s released singles without treating the two as the same collection.

How this relates to The Album and trailer songs

Rockstar’s music page lists 34 original tracks for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album and presents six debut singles. The album announcement covers that release and its physical editions. This radio update says more information about the dynamic score and further album singles will follow.

Neither the radio announcement nor the music page provides a track-by-track mapping between the album and the six stations. The same distinction matters for music heard in promotional videos: our trailer-song guide separates official song credits from media identifications. Appearing in a trailer does not, by itself, establish a place on one of these stations.

    What this announcement leaves open

The announcement and official music page do not provide the final number of stations, complete station playlists, a podcast catalog or detailed playback controls. The confirmed information is the six-station selection, its hosts and genres, the previews and the announced listening features. Further official announcements can fill in the remaining details without guessing at launch-day content.
