Direct answers to what people actually search about GTA 6 — when it comes out, whether it is coming to PC, how much it costs, file size, crossplay and online.
Rockstar has not announced a confirmed GTA 6 completion time in the official sources reviewed. Main-story length, 100% completion and all-trophy runs are different measurements, and none has a verified hour estimate here. A trailer’s runtime, map size or chapter-based bonus system cannot establish how long a playthrough will take.
No. Rockstar has not announced an end date for GTA Online on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S or PC, and Take-Two's CEO said in August 2026 that the company expects to keep supporting it. Nothing has been announced about moving characters, GTA$ or purchases into GTA 6.
Yes, in three ways. A PlayStation Store or Xbox gift card lets the recipient buy or pre-order GTA 6 on their own account. Xbox can send some digital games as gifts, but the GTA 6 pre-order has no gift option. A boxed copy holds a download code, and PlayStation codes only work in the region they were sold for.
No. GTA 6 has not been announced for Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus. The Xbox and PlayStation stores both sell it as a regular purchase from $79.99, with no subscription label. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in 2024 that putting a new full-price game into a subscription on launch day would not fit how the company makes decisions.
Yes. On PlayStation, a pre-order paid more than 14 days before release can be cancelled for a refund at any time before November 19, as long as the game has not started downloading, and preloading counts. On Xbox you can cancel in your order history until 10 days before launch, then request a refund. Retailer orders follow the retailer.
No. Rockstar has announced no beta and no early access for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the Ultimate Edition's extras are in-game items, not an early start. You can pre-order now and preload from November 12, but the game only unlocks on November 19. PlayStation listings put that at local midnight, so some time zones start first.
Nobody outside Take-Two knows. The company has never disclosed the development budget; CEO Strauss Zelnick says only that "it was expensive", and the $1 billion-plus figures are analyst estimates. Pre-order numbers are not public either: Zelnick calls them "unprecedented and astonishing" but gives no count. Take-Two expects $8.0 to $8.2 billion in net bookings this fiscal year.
Rockstar has announced the Vice City Collection, a US$399.99 merchandise box with 11 listed items, including a map poster. It does not include GTA 6. Standard and Ultimate remain the game editions described in our edition guide; the collection is a separate physical purchase, not a game bundle.
Rockstar has not announced a frame rate, resolution or graphics modes for GTA 6. Digital Foundry found An Extended Look, captured on a base PS5, ran at a steady 30fps at around 1440p, and considers a 60fps console mode very unlikely. The game is labelled PS5 Pro Enhanced, but Sony says those enhancements vary by game.
Yes, several times. In September 2022 a hacker stole early development footage; Rockstar said development would continue as planned. In December 2023 Trailer 1 leaked and Rockstar released it early. In August 2026 gameplay clips spread online, and Rockstar called it "heartbreaking" and asked players to wait for November 19.
Yes, in all but name. GTA 6 is set in Leonida, a fictional state, and its city is Vice City, which Rockstar called a take on Miami in the original game. Rockstar's GTA 6 material never names Florida or Miami, but it calls Leonida "the sunshine state", and a Rockstar North studio head has pointed to Florida and Miami's population.
Yes. Rockstar describes Grand Theft Auto VI as "a single player experience", and the game is built around the story of Jason and Lucia, told in chapters. PlayStation lists it as 1 player with offline play enabled. No co-op and no online mode have been announced, which does not rule out an online mode later.
Yes. Rockstar Support says Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately at any time, as a digital add-on from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. Boxed copies must redeem their download code first. The upgrade price has not been announced, and PlayStation currently lists the add-on as unavailable.
No. GTA 6 releases for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, so any PS5 can run it, including the Digital Edition. PlayStation lists the game as "PS5 Pro Enhanced", but neither Rockstar nor PlayStation has said what that enhancement is. Resolution and frame-rate figures for either console are not official.
GTA 6 is listed as ESRB Mature 17+ in the United States and Canada and PEGI 18 in the UK, Spain and India. Australia shows R 18+, New Zealand R18, Hong Kong and Taiwan 18+, and South Korea 19+. Japan, Germany and Brazil were still pending on October 6, 2026.
Rockstar has never called GTA 6 a sequel to GTA 5 or said the stories connect, and it has not said which of the series' worlds GTA 6 belongs to. Its official material contains two nods to earlier games: Lucia's bio mentions her family's days in Liberty City, and the Ultimate Edition revolvers have "classic Vice City stylings sourced from the Vercetti Estate."
Rockstar's official store lists 13 supported languages for Grand Theft Auto VI, including Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. The Xbox listing states the same count without naming them. Neither page separates spoken audio from interface and subtitle text.
There is no disc version of Grand Theft Auto VI. The boxed Standard Edition is a code in a box, not a disc, and the Ultimate Edition is sold digitally only. Every copy therefore downloads the full game, and boxed codes go on sale November 12 so physical buyers can preload.
Grand Theft Auto VI has no Steam listing. A Steam page would require a PC version, and Rockstar has not announced one — no date, no requirements, no storefront. At launch the game sells through the PlayStation and Xbox stores and the Rockstar Store.
Rockstar has not announced how much space GTA 6 needs. The figures in circulation are community estimates extrapolated from earlier games. Once preloads open on November 12, your own console's store page shows the real download size and the free space required.
Rockstar has not announced crossplay for GTA 6. Releasing on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S says nothing about whether those platforms can play together. Crossplay, cross-save and cross-generation support are three separate questions, and none of them has an answer yet.
Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 online mode, release date, price, player count or crossplay support. The launch product is described as a single-player experience. Store labels mention one player, offline play and optional purchases, but none of those labels confirms or rules out a separate multiplayer release later.
