GTA 6 Map Size — How Big Is Leonida vs the GTA 5 Map?

The short answer

Rockstar has not announced the size of the GTA 6 map, and has never officially compared it with GTA 5. The “X times bigger” and square-mile figures going around are not official numbers.

What is known

• The game is set in Leonida, the state that contains Vice City.
• Rockstar has named six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. The map overview covers each one.
• The total area, the edges of the playable world and how the regions connect have not been announced.

Can it be compared with GTA 5?

Not yet. Knowing there are six regions tells you nothing about how large each one is, and a screenshot without a scale cannot be measured.

It is also worth knowing that Rockstar never published an official area for GTA 5’s map either. Any comparison you see is setting one unofficial figure against another.

When there will be an answer

Either Rockstar publishes a figure or an official comparison, or the full map becomes visible once the game is out. Until then, treat any size figure as an estimate.
