Is GTA 6 30 or 60 FPS? Frame Rate on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox
The short answer
Rockstar has not announced a frame rate, resolution or graphics modes for GTA 6. Digital Foundry found An Extended Look, captured on a base PS5, ran at a steady 30fps at around 1440p, and considers a 60fps console mode very unlikely. The game is labelled PS5 Pro Enhanced, but Sony says those enhancements vary by game.

Background and full explanationFurther context and details
Is GTA 6 30fps or 60fps?
Rockstar has not said. No official page lists a frame rate, a resolution or a choice between quality and performance modes, for any console.
The best evidence so far points to 30fps. Rockstar says An Extended Look was “captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5,” and Digital Foundry’s analysis of it found “a relatively stable and well-paced 30fps output, with only very occasional single frame drops.” Its conclusion: “That makes a 60fps version extremely unlikely on console hardware.”
Treat that as analysis of a video, not a specification. The final game can still change before November 19.
What resolution does GTA 6 run at?
Also not announced. Digital Foundry estimated the internal resolution of the Extended Look on PS5 at around 1440p, upscaled to a 4K output.
What has Rockstar’s team said?
Only second-hand. Kotaku reported, citing content creators who visited Rockstar North, that head of development Rob Nelson told them the game currently runs at 30fps on console during development, and that he could not commit to other specifics. That is a reported conversation, not an official announcement.
Will PS5 Pro run it at 60fps?
Unknown. The PlayStation game page labels GTA VI PS5 Pro Enhanced, but Sony’s PS5 Pro page defines that loosely: “PS5 Pro enhanced features will vary by game.” The label alone does not promise a higher frame rate. Digital Foundry expects the Pro to look somewhat better but says it will need to see Pro footage first. More in does GTA 6 need a PS5 Pro.
What about Xbox Series X and Series S?
The Xbox Store listing says “Optimized for Xbox Series X|S” and nothing about frame rate or resolution. An Extended Look was captured on PS5, so it says nothing about how the game runs on Series X or Series S. The platform list is in GTA 6 platforms.
And on PC?
There is no PC version to measure. See GTA 6 PC release.
