Cal Hampton — GTA 6 Character and Jason's Keys Circle

Cal Hampton is one of eight characters Rockstar has profiled on its official Only in Leonida page, and the one whose bio is easiest to summarise: he stays home, drinks a few beers, and listens to the Coast Guard. He is Jason Duval’s friend, and that friendship is the reason he is on the list.

Who Cal Hampton is, in Rockstar’s words

The bio’s tagline is a question — “What if everything on the internet was true?” — and the rest of the entry answers it in character. Cal feels safest “hanging at home, snooping on Coast Guard comms with a few beers and some private browser tabs open.” The quotes Rockstar attaches to him are of a piece: “There are way too many birds flying around in perfect formation,” and “The psychopaths are in charge. Get used to it.”

Rockstar’s own summary is the sharpest line on the page: Cal “is at the low tide of America and happy there. Casual paranoia loves company, but his friend Jason has bigger plans.”

Where he sits in Jason’s world

Cal is one of the three people Rockstar’s material places around Jason before the story starts. The relationships are stated outright in the bios, and they form a small, closed circle in the Keys:

That “bigger plans” line is the only hint Rockstar gives about where Cal stands once the story moves. Read it as tone, not plot.

What the bio does not say

A character sketch is not a role. The bio gives Cal a personality (paranoid, sedentary, content), a place in the circle (Jason’s friend, Brian’s associate) and a hobby that could plausibly matter in a game about smuggling (a man who listens to the Coast Guard is a man who knows where the Coast Guard is). Whether Rockstar uses that as a mechanic, a mission source, or just a joke is not published.

The bio also does not say where Cal lives. Brian’s boat yard and Jason’s work are both in the Keys, so the Keys are the natural guess — but the bio does not say so.

What is still unknown

• Story role. Mission-giver, information source, or background colour — unstated.
• Home. Not named; the Keys are inferred from his associates, not confirmed.
• Screen appearances. Rockstar does not label people in its trailers, so it is not confirmed which figure is him.
• Voice cast. Rockstar has not published a cast or credits.
