Does GTA 6 Need a PS5 Pro? No — It Is PS5 Pro Enhanced
The short answer
No. GTA 6 releases for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, so any PS5 can run it, including the Digital Edition. PlayStation lists the game as "PS5 Pro Enhanced", but neither Rockstar nor PlayStation has said what that enhancement is. Resolution and frame-rate figures for either console are not official.

Background and full explanationFurther context and details
Do you need a PS5 Pro for GTA 6?
No. PlayStation’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page says the game releases for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro, and that it is playable only on PS5 consoles. A standard PS5 or a PS5 Digital Edition runs it.
What “PS5 Pro Enhanced” tells you
PlayStation’s game page and its store listings in the UK and Taiwan all carry the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label. The label marks a game as optimized for the Pro, but it does not come with details. Rockstar and PlayStation have not published resolution, frame rate or any other difference between PS5 and PS5 Pro. Figures you see online come from analysing footage captured on a base PS5, not from official specs; see GTA 6 frame rate.
The same listings also note support for the DualSense controller’s vibration and trigger effects. More on that in the GTA 6 PS5 controller guide.
Xbox Series X and Series S
Both are launch platforms. The Taiwan Xbox Store listing says the game is optimized for Xbox Series X|S, again without saying how the two consoles differ.
