Yes. The Rockstar Store and the US PlayStation and Xbox stores all show ESRB Mature 17+.
Is GTA 6 PEGI 18?
Yes. The UK, Spanish and Indian PlayStation Store listings show PEGI 18. The earlier "provisional" wording is gone.
Is GTA 6 rated Adults Only?
No. The ESRB rating shown is Mature 17+, the same category GTA V received, not Adults Only 18+.
Which regions are still pending?
Japan shows CERO under review, Germany shows USK rating pending and Brazil shows ClassInd rating pending.

What is GTA 6 rated?
Mature 17+ in North America and 18 in most other places. These are the ratings shown on store listings on October 6, 2026:

The US rating appears on the Rockstar Store, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store. All three also note in-game purchases.
What changed since September
In mid-September the Rockstar Store still said “ESRB Rating Pending – Likely Mature”, the UK PlayStation Store said “PEGI Provisional 18”, and Australia showed “CTC” (check the classification). All three now show a full rating.
PlayStation’s general Grand Theft Auto VI page has not caught up: it still says the age ratings are unconfirmed. The store listings are the more recent source.
Is it the same rating as GTA V?
Yes for the two big systems. GTA V was rated M (Mature 17+) by the ESRB and PEGI 18 in Europe, and GTA 6 carries the same two labels. It is not rated Adults Only.
Buying it for, or as, someone under 18
- The Hong Kong PlayStation Store listing carries the legal warning that the game must not be distributed, sold, rented or shown to anyone under 18.
- The Japanese PlayStation Store says games still under CERO review can only be bought with a credit card.
- PlayStation’s GTA VI page notes that PlayStation accounts can be age-restricted with the PlayStation Family app.
- On Xbox, the free month of GTA+ cannot be redeemed by child accounts with restrictions on age-restricted content.
